Kids Count at Rosewood!
Welcome to the home page of Rosewood Children's Ministries. We want you to know that children are precious in God's sight, and they're also very important to our church family at Rosewood. We have an outstanding team of young adults and adults who are committed to partnering with parents in nurturing the growing faith of children. Although our team of volunteers may not all be professional teachers (some actually are!), each leader has met the core requirements: loving God and loving children. In our Sunday morning and our midweek ministries, we use The Bible as our source for all of our teaching and coaching. We always welcome parents' feedback and input and partnership; we're all working together to make this a safe and healthy environement for children to grow in God. Thanks for checking us out!

Seasonal Family Events at Rosewood
Spring - Easter Egg Hunt & Mini Carnival
On the Saturday before Easter, the Rosewood Campus is packed with children and families celebrating the Easter season! We begin the day with a Free Pancake Breakfast for everyone, followed by Easter Egg Hunts for the children and a Mini-Carnival complete with game booths, a bounce house, face painting, and lots of candy and prizes.
Summer - Summer Family Nights
For five weeks of the summer (the entire month of July), we dedicate our Wednesday nights to getting families together to celebrate and learn more about God. We start out each Wednesday evening with a free dinner for all families, followed by a big-group worship time including music and drama, then a menu of small groups for all ages. The children participate in a Vacation Bible School type program, the youth form small groups and go through a practical life theme, and the adults can choose from a menu of classes ranging from Bible studies to cooking to crafts.
Summer - TGIF Clubs
We bring our Bible classes right into the city parks and backyards of Bellflower, as our TGIF (Together Growing in Faith) teams lead small groups of children for 4-5 weeks. Featuring Bible story dramas, singing, memory verses, crafts, and treats, our TGIF Clubs have provided a great way for children and their families to take a safe "first step" into the family of God.
Fall - Outrageous Pumpkin Party
Every year on October 31st, the Rosewood Church campus transforms into an Outrageous Pumpkin Party! We've welcomed more than 1,200 people to this event each year by offering a safe, fun, Christian alternative to Halloween activities -- without sacrificing any of the positive aspects of gathering lots of sweets to eat. The O.P.P. features a photo booth, bounce house, at least 20 game booths, a cake walk, face painting, a scary maze crawl, goldfish giveaways, and treasure sacks full of candy and prizes. The past two years we've also given away Bibles to participants, and offered an opportunity to submit prayer requests and sign up for ministries. The O.P.P. is our biggest family event of the year!
Fall/Winter - Children's Christmas Musical
From October through mid-December, some 60-70 children get together every week to prepare for the annual Children's Christmas Musical. Under the direction of Mrs. Kay Van Weerthuizen, the children (ranging from K-6th grades) learn at least a dozen songs and motions, plus drama parts, and do an incredible job of leading the adults in a night of worship (this year on December 21).
