CADETS MEET ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS!

Article Pic

The Cadets meet every Wednesday night in the Rosewood Church social hall from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  They keep busy with active games, Bible study and prayer, great treats, and projects such as fire-building, archery, marksmanship, flag-raising, and more.  Every winter our Cadets participate in Field Day, where they compete with Cadet clubs from all over Southern California in a variety of activities.  In the spring, the boys participate in Pinewood Derby races, in which they race the cars they have carved out of wood and painted.  Cadets is a great place for boys to be mentored by adult Christian men and to learn more about what it means to live out the Christian faith.  New boys are welcome to join us anytime -- it's a lot of fun!   Any questions, contact head counselor Dave Van Essen at 562-804-2198.

Cadet Emblem

Article Pic The three C's in the center of the shield have special meaning. Not only do they represent The Calvinist Cadet Corps name … they form a cross. This reminds us of God's Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins.

2009-2010 Theme Verse

"Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher."

-Luke 6:39-40

The Goal of Cadeting

The Goal of Cadeting Luke 2:52 states that "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." The goal of the Calvinist Cadet Corps, based upon that verse, is to help boys to grow spiritually in all areas of life (devotional, mental, physical, and social) by providing Christian men with a uniquely designed structure, program, and materials so that they can mentor boys effectively.
